02/15/02 - 13 more days!
Survivor 4 Marquesas starts on February 28th. I've created a new web page for it. Check it out!

01/18/02 - The tribe has spoken
Ethan Zohn, a pro soccer player from Massachusetts, outwitted, outplayed and outlasted fellow contestants long enough to be crowned the winner of CBS' "Survivor: Africa." At the end of a two-hour telecast, Zohn won $1 million, after getting more votes than runner- up Kim Johnson, a 57-year-old retired teacher from Oyster Bay.
We have some winners! Congratulations to Ray ($25), Mike I. ($50), Mike M. ($75), and the big winner Dawn ($200) - Take bets on if these people will play in the next one?
Survivor 4 - Marquesas starts Feb 28th. Of course we'll do the pool again but should I do the web site again? Vote in the poll.
By the way - I did beat Elaine in the Yahoo Survivor Pick`em game!

01/04/02 - Flight of the T-Bird!
As predictable as it was, with a final smile and a quip about the "fat lady singing," Teresa Cooper, the 42-year-old flight attendant from Jackson, Georgia, left Tribal Council as the twelfth person voted out of the Moto Maji Tribe. The Boran alliance held strong and all voted Teresa, the last remaining member of the original Samburu Tribe. Sorry Janyce, You missed the money by inches. Congratulations to Mike I., Ray, Mike M., and Dawn - your all in the money!

Last weeks poll was split 50/50 on if Teresa would be gone this week. I was hoping it wasn't true. Thanks for the votes. With one episode left it's time to take a guess of who will win. Take a second to vote.

12/29/01 - Powerless Kim!
Kim Powers, the 29-year-old freelance marketer from Conshohocken, PA, held on for a while but became the last of the mall rats to be ousted. Kim managed to stay under the radar even with her mall rat alliance. She fit in well with the group and was actually liked by most. Unfortunately the old boran alliance held strong and it was her turn to go. Sorry Michael, hope you watched.

Last weeks poll was better attended. Not surprisingly 43% answered "You bet!" to the question "If you could... Would you?. Thanks for the votes. This weeks poll revolves around the predictability of the show. With the Boran alliance strong it appears Teresa will go next. Will she? Take a second to vote.

12/21/01 - Frank Phones Home!
Frank Garrison the 43 year old Telephone Technician from Odessa New York got his walking papers in a 6-1 vote in last nights Survivor Africa episode. Frank managed to do the NRA proud last night but piss everyone else off with his preaching. Teresa broke down after voting for Frank, knowing her only chance of survival is a gender alliance. With Frank gone the tribe is setup for a gender split. Frankly Frank I'm surprised you lasted this long. Sorry Darren but the "tribe has spoken".

Last weeks poll was "Will the tribe split along gender lines" I guess the question came a week to early as it looks apparent to me that it will happen next week. Again the participation was low with 3 votes saying it wouldn't happen and just 1 saying it would. This weeks poll will reveal if anyone really reads this. Take a second to vote.

12/15/01 - Cya Sugar Bear!
Brandon Quinton, the 25-year-old bartender from Dallas, Texas, was voted out of the tribe. Brandon's betrayal of his former Samburu allies in the previous Tribal Council--when he cast the deciding vote against Kelly, whom the Samburus had wanted to keep--came back to haunt him as his best friend, Kim Powers, voted with the majority against him. Lets give thanks! Sorry Nancy, but he was grinding on everyones nerves.
Read my full write up of Episode 9 on the message board. Last weeks poll was disappointing with only 3 people voting. The question was who would take Lindseys place and shed the tears. 2 for Brandon and 1 for Lex. Thanks for the votes! As Elaine pointed out in her spoiler (thanks Elaine) next week there is speculation the tribe will split along gender lines. Which leads to this weeks poll. "Will the tribe split on gender lines." Take a second to vote!

12/07/01 - Kelly's day in court.
Kelly Goldsmith, the 22 year old Behavior Research Analyst, fails her behavior exam and becomes the second Moto Maji to be given walking papers. Lex's hunt to find the person that bruised his ego by voting for him, incorrectly or perhaps in directly, picks Kelly as the snake. Kelly, catching wind of Lex's plot to oust her, becomes the first survivor to defect tribal alliances and gets Samburu to vote with her against Lex. Brandon, after having made an awesome play by telling Lex that Kelly was the snake, votes against his Samburu alliance and becomes the second to defect tribal alliances. This mistake not only booted Kelly but marked Brandon as well. Sorry Leann, better luck next year.
Read my full write up of Episode 8 on the message board. Last weeks poll questioning asking if Lex would find the snake proved I'm not the only one that can't figure out this show with 83% saying he would. Thanks for the votes! On the next survivor "A tribe member breaks down in tears over a critical decision that needs to be made." Which leads to this weeks poll. "Who will take Lindseys place and shed the tears?" Take a second to vote!

11/23/01 - Black Sack
Clarence Black, the 24 year old Detroit high school basketball coach gets slam dunked by the newly formed MotoMaji Tribe. With thoughts of old alliances in his head Clarence gambles on a tough immunity challenge with Theresa by playing Rock/Paper/Scissors. Clarence's rock gets covered by Teresa's paper and he holds true to his word, giving Teresa the immunity win. Clarence is then taken aside by Lex who informs him that he would be voted out. "You're too much of a threat.
Read my full write up of Episode 7 on the message board. Last weeks poll questioning if the tribes would merge was again correct with 67% saying they would. Thanks for the votes! Teresa held to her end of the bargain and didn't vote for Clarence at the tribal council - She voted Lex. Lex who may have nudged past Frank as Survivor's lead psycho, threatened to hunt down whoever voted against him and rip their head off in the preview for next week's show. Which leads to this weeks poll. "Will Lex find out Teresa voted for him?" Take a second to vote!

11/16/01 - Whine, Dine, 3 Lindsey Signs
Lindsey Richter, the 27 year old whining, tick in the ass, mallrat finds herself taking the lonely walk. Lets thank god! In one of the most emotional tribal councils yet morals wins over the million dollars. Lindsey says she originally thought she would vote for Brandon, but then on the way to Council her dignity took over (it’s about freaking time!). She says she doesn’t care if she’s voted out because she didn't vote for a friend and she'll be leaving with her pride (well, after seeing you whine for five weeks, I certainly wouldn't go that far). Brandon of course crys like a baby. Don't worry folks, Brandon is going to fill the "cry time" spots while Lindseys away in future episodes. Sorry Elaine, but at least ya did good on Yahoo Survivor pick'em.
Read my full write up of Episode 6 on the message board. Last weeks poll didn't give the chickens a chance in hell of surviving. They did eat one, I hope it wasn't the only one to have payed an egg. Thanks for the votes! With Jeff Probst's comment hinting the merge might not happen in Epicode 7 as usual, This weeks poll is "Will the merge happen next week?" Take a second to vote!

11/02/01 - Spencer for hire!Linda Spencer the Assistant Director of Career Services at Harvard University and lively 44-year-old cancer survivor fell victim to her Samburu tribe's gaping generational divide. That meant four votes against her from the smug twentysomething contingent, which includes Dallas bartender Brandon Quinton. The other three votes, from Samburu's outgunned trio of 40-plussers, went against sculpted Silas Gaither, 23. "Honor is very important to us. Integrity is very important to us," Linda said in her bland closing remarks. "To me it's not whether you win or lose, but how you played the game. I've grown, I've learned, it's been great." Sorry Nicole and Jeff!
Read my full write up of Episode 4 on the message board. Last weeks poll was not very active with only 6 people voting for who they wanted voted off. Brandon took 50% of the votes. This weeks poll is "What do you think will happen next week that will change the game forever? Take a second to vote!

10/26/01 - What's up Doc? Dentist Carl Bilancione, branded too rich and long in the tooth by younger tribemates, is evictee No. 3. The 46-year-old, Porsche- driving Floridian went packing after losing a sudden-death quiz-off to Lindsey Richter, 27, after they tied in two tribal council votes split along age lines. Carl still knows a molar from a bicuspid. But he incorrectly wrote "False" to the statement "If bitten by a tick, pouring hot water on the tick will force it to retract." Then he got a little ticked. We have our first money loser. Sorry Sara!
Read my full write up of Episode 3 on the message board. Also note the new poll on the left side. As requested, this week we vote for who you want kicked out - not who you think will be kicked out. In the last poll, not one person picked Carl. Take a second to put in your vote.

10/19/01 - Deported! Jessie Camacho, the 27-year-old Deputy Sheriff from Orlando, Florida, was the second person voted out of the Boran tribe. Dehydrated and weak since arriving in Africa, Jessie never quite acclimated to her new surroundings. As her dejected tribe members watched her torch extinguish, she was sent packing and left the Tribal Council area. Jessie confessed, "I understand the decision that was made to keep Clarence and not me; he is much stronger than I am. I just want to tell Tom [who had voted for Clarence to leave] that I love him." Sorry Adam!
Read my full write up of Episode 2 on the message board. Also note the new poll on the left side. Take a second to put in your vote.

10/12/01 - Return to sender! After just a few minutes, it became clear that in its third incarnation since its stunning debut in the summer of 2000, "Survivor" is poised to continue its reign as the granddaddy and undisputed champion of reality-TV shows. Unfortunately after a few minutes it also became clear I was poised to loose my survivor. Mail carrier Diane Ogden got FedExited. Diane joins fellow weak sisters Sonja Christopher and Debb Eaton. I think I see a pattern forming. You don't want to be my survivor. Read my full write up of Episode 1 on the message board. Also note the new poll on the left side. Take a second to put in your vote.

9/26/01 - Survivors have been picked! After much deliberation about how to pick peoples survivors, I decided on the "pick them out of a hat" route. The survivor that came up for you is listed on the left. If you click on your survivors name you will get a window with information about that survivor.

9/25/01 - The survivors have been revealed! Click here to see who is who! I'll be picking everyones survivors shortly but though ya might like to see who's who first.

9/05/01 - All survivors have been sold.  Ray your in!

8/20/01 - Okay I added a message board for everyone to use.  It's kind of fun if people check it and use it.  So check it out and leave a message.  The link to the message board is at the top right or just click here.

8/17/01 - Welcome to Al's Survivor Pool.   Last year I emailed out results and information, this year I thought it would be fun to create a simple web page.  I'll try and update this page regularly with tidbits I learn, predictions I have, and recaps of the shows.

Last year the pool was created late, as a matter of fact it was created about an hour before the first show kicked off.  As such it was pretty simple and priced to sell all the contestants quickly.  This year I'm starting early and have polled everyone who had a survivor last year about methods and costs for the pool this year.  The general concensus was more payouts and a $25 cost per survivor.  The payouts are listed on the left hand side of this page.  Survivors will be assigned randomly once CBS anounces the contestants.

If you have any suggestions for this page please email me.  I'm thinking of a simple bulletin board that we can all post to but my experience is that no one would use it.  What do you think?  I also plan on putting up a weekly poll.  Probably something along the lines of "who do you think will get voted off this week?"

So far no official information has been released about the upcoming Survivor Africia.  There is speculation about the location that seems pretty solid (Shaba Game Reserve in the Isiolo District of Kenya), and lots of speculation on contestants.  The only contestant name that seems probable to me is Lindsey Richter.   Other then that everything I've read seems like a stretch of some rumor from some friend of a friend of a friends mother.  You can read lots of rumors and speculation at the SurvivorFever.Net site so I won't bother pontificating it here.

GET YOUR SURVIVORS NOW!.   Email Me and let me know if you want one, or two, and I'll fill you in on list to the left.  Last years players get first dibs.   If I don't hear from you by September 7, 2001 I will assume you are not playing this year and will sell off the remaining survivors.  Currently there are 4 people on the waiting list for a survivor (Meloni, Rick, Mary)

Like we did last year, Tricia and I will host a survivor night at our house every show (provided we aren't off traveling somewhere).  We are also planning a survivor kick off party.  More info will follow as it gets closer.
