Al's News

05/21/02 - Vee is for Victory!
Vecepia Towery, the 36-year-old office manager from Portland, Oregon, became the Sole Survivor and winner of SURVIVOR: MARQUESAS.
Congratulations to Michael C. for winning "Al's Pool" this season.

Check out my complete, and final, write up on the message board!

05/17/02 - Wrecking Rector
Sean Rector, the 30-year-old teacher from Harlem, New York, was voted out of the tribe in a 3-2 vote. Vee and Sean voted for Neleh. Sean tried hard to make race an issue although I never thought it was and his attitude about it ultimately cost him the game.
Ray, you were so close, but alas you leave with nothing! Adam/Elaine/Sue/Michael C., You're all in the money!

05/10/02 - General Demotion
Robert DeCanio, the 38-year-old limo driver from Queens, New York, was voted out of the Soliantu tribe in a 5-1 vote. Robert, the last member of the old Rotu alliance, became the eleventh person voted out of Survivor: Marquesas. He now becomes the fourth member of the Jury, which will return every three days to observe Tribal Council
Sorry Jeff and Nicole but we knew it was coming

05/03/02 - Tammy Gets Her Last Scoop
Tammy Leitner, the 29-year-old crime reporter from Mesa, Arizona, was voted out of the Soliantu tribe in a 5-2 vote. After Robert DeCanio declined to relinquish his Immunity necklace, Tammy became the tenth castaway voted off the island.
At least my survivor wasn't the first booted this time. Next time I'm taking the money! :-)

04/26/02 - Lobster Lady Gets Boiled
Zoe Zanidakis, the 35-year-old fishing boat captain from Monhegan Island, Maine, was voted out of the Soliantu tribe in a 7-1 vote. Zoe joins John Carroll as the second member of the Jury, which will return every three days to observe Tribal Council, and which will eventually vote to determine who will be the Sole Survivor
Sorry Nancy it was only a matter of time. Zoe had to be the worst lier in survivor history.

04/19/02 - Dear John Letter
John Carroll, the 36-year-old registered nurse from Omaha, Nebraska, was voted out of the Soliantu tribe in a vote of 6-3. John, the self-proclaimed leader of what he thought was a secure alliance, became the target of a tribe that shifted its perspective after an Immunity Challenge revealed a distinct pecking order.
Sorry Mike but ya have to admit the guy was getting on everyones nerves.

04/12/02 - Robfather off to sleep with the fishes
Rob Mariano, the 26-year-old construction worker from Canton, Massachusetts, was voted out of the newly formed Soliantu tribe. Rob, who ruffled tribal feathers with his confrontational approach to the game, became the seventh member voted out of Survivor Marquesas.
Sorry Janyce, I'm sure CBS hated to see this action hero cut off at the legs.

04/05/02 - Wrecking Crews
Gina Crews, the 29-year-old nature guide from Gainesville, Florida, was voted out of the Maraamu tribe. As the only remaining member of the original Maraamu tribe, Gina had blended in well with her newly-formed tribe and became one of the "family". Unfortunately when it came down to the game the up rooted Rotu members stuck together and sent Gina home to Hunter.
Sorry Darren, I was all for her sticking around for a while.

03/29/02 - Booby Prize
Gabriel Cade, the 23-year-old bartender from North Carolina, was the first member of the Rotu tribe to have his torch extinguished, as the larger tribe faced its first tribal council. YO GABE - welcome to the game! John, playing the game like he's never seen it before said "This is not the '60s and free love and all that" and convinced Tammy/Zoe/Robert to vote Gabe off. John also foolishly showed his hand to Rob/Sean who seazed the moment and changed their ultimate fate of being ousted.
There was only one new player left in our pool. I kind of figured this 'free love' guy would of hung on longer but I guess we could of predicted this ousting. Sorry Meloni, we do hope you play again next season.

03/26/02 - Booby Prize
Sarah Jones , the 24-year-old, lazy sales women from Newport Beach, California became the latest Maraamu looser. After mixing up the tribe members Sara continued on her lazy ways and quickly alienated the new members (Kathy, Neleh, Paschal) of her tribe. Lets hope she left her pillow and lets thank the producors for saving Gina (WHOA!) for another week.
Seems to be a trend with the new pool players as another newbie leaves the game early. Sorry Mary, better luck next time.

Saving me the typing you can read the full story at Reality News Online!

03/14/02 - Hunting Ego's
Hunter Ellis, the 33-year-old Federal Express pilot from La Jolla, California became the latest Maraamu fodder. In what can only be viewed as an egotistical move Sean and Rob hooked up again and took the girls, Sarah and Vecepia, on their side to oust Hunter from the tribe after Maraamu lost it's 3rd straight immunity challenge. Hunter was the only team member with a will to win. Sorry Tricia, but you'll love Hunters closing remarks.

Check out my complete write up on the message board!

03/11/02 - Mom's home cooking
Patricia Jackson the 49-year-old truck assembler from Lugoff, South Carolina, became the second person voted out of the Maraamu tribe. Patricia realized she was in trouble and made sure she was helping out at the tribe, unfortunately she couldn't let go of her need to mother the others. This didn't sit well with the young ones in the group. Sarahs' harshness and pedestal attitude also didn't sit well. Rob became the swing vote and (mistakenly I think) decided to vote with Sean/Vecepia/Sarah. Patricia took the walk in a 4-3 vote. Sorry Dawn, but hey you did win the last one.

The voting booth asked if you could, would you be on survivor. About half of you said you would. Because the voting booth I was using is unreliable, we'll be skipping it this week until I can write one I have control over.

03/11/02 - Peter Can't Conform
Peter Harkey the Yoga enthusiast from Millis Mass became the first survivor voted off the island. Peter, who can't decide what to do in life (construction/real estate/bowling alley/wine shop), also couldn't decide the best method to play the game. Peter came off to strong, to soon, in his urging to get rid of the weakest leak. Hunter, having formed early friends is looking good for the short run here.

Sorry for delay in writing this. Vacation called. I'll be more up to date in the future. Read Elaines' full write up of Episode 1 on the message board. Sorry Rick, ya just get in and your out.

02/27/02 - Survivors have been picked
Through a method only known by me and data, your survivors have been picked. Trust me, it was fair and square. It's not my fault I got the cute one. Lady luck! Maybe my survivor won't be the first to take the walk of shame this time. I'm not holding my breath.

Simply click on your survivors name over on the left and a page with the bio will come up. At least till CBS changes them.

We have 3 new players this time around. Meloni, Rick, and Mary. Welcome to the game. Please participate on the message board with us.

02/15/02 - Get ready to rock!
The 16 latest castaways are marooned on Nuku Hiva, the largest of Marquesas' 12 volcanic islands in the South Pacific. For the first time, the players must find their own food and water, and, according to executive producer Mark Burnett, "there is a little romance this time around." He also says he has added at least three new wrinkles to the game, one of which is that previous votes no longer count against a player in the event of a tie at tribal council. As for the 16 contestants, who are divided into the Maraamu tribe and Rotu tribe, Burnett told them not to assume anything, which resulted in a more "freethinking, freewheeling" attitude.

GET YOUR SURVIVORS NOW!.
Email Me and let me know if you want one, or two, and I'll fill you in.  Last years players get first dibs.   If I don't hear from you by February 25, 2002 I will assume you are not playing this year and will sell off the remaining survivors.  Currently there are 3 people on the waiting list for a survivor (Meloni, Rick, Mary). I will choose, out of a hat, everyones survivors on February 26, 2002.

Like we did last year, Tricia and I will host a survivor night at our house every show (provided we aren't off traveling somewhere).  We are also planning a survivor kick off party.  More info will follow as it gets closer.

Here's the whole Survivor Marquesas Crew.
